Came to the Staunton Memorial; a very impressive line up

I for one, welcome the Staunton Memorial. It is very important for British Chess that such events take place.

The field is a strong one, full of world-class players.

Those who criticize the participation of Bob Wade would do well to remember his immense service to chess in this country. He was given the choice of whether to take part or not and agreed of his own free will.

I would like to congratulate the organisers on a fine tournament
